We are bouncing back, and taking fresh new ideas and our community is moving forward.
New Jersey Monthly magazine just picked Mahwah as the best places to live, ranked us at 26 out of 512 municipalities in the State.
You can see these improvements throughout our town.
Mahwah is quickly becoming the High Tech destination in the State of New Jersey.
We see the latest Data and Fiber Optic improvements and fortified Smart Grid Electrical system improvements underway. These improvements are very desirable to new and existing businesses. This has positioned Mahwah a choice for premium corporate businesses.
As a community we are now connected in a way that stands as an example throughout the State, with our new Smartphone App, “Mahwah Delivers”,
Nixle Alert System, Swift Reach Reverse 911 system we are setting the mark in communication and transparency.
In addition there are two major road infrastructure repairs underway. There are new businesses moving into our community. Winter Park is being revitalized, the Winter Park Playground is soon to be improved. Veteran Park is looking great, and other significant community projects are planned.
Mahwah has also been named one of the top “booming suburbs” in the state by a new Coldwell Banker survey.
The real estate agency ranked towns and cities across the country based on several characteristics, including their number of amenities like grocery stores and banks, proximity to good schools, police department & community safety, and year-over-year employment and unemployment rates. Mahwah is ranked 20th in the State.
The rankings were part of Coldwell Banker’s annual ‘Best Places to Live’ series, which ranks towns nationally, and by state.
Our Mahwah Police Department is CALEA Accredited, which ranks our agency as one of the top 3% in the Nation.
We have one of the best equipped Fire Departments on the County.
Our newly formed Mahwah Emergency Services (MEMS) Volunteer Ambulance Corp is rejuvenated and is providing extraordinary service at a time when you most need it.
I consider it an extraordinary honor to serve as your Mayor and thank everyone for the help throughout the community who help make Mahwah great.
Come to Mahwah Day and celebrate our community. The 19th annual Mahwah Day celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Commodore Perry Field. A parade, starting at 12:00 kicks off the event. Perennial favorites include the dog show, magician, kiddie and pony rides. There will be live music from 6-8pm followed by a spectacular fireworks display at dusk. All groups and organizations that plan on participating in Mahwah Day should be represented. Tomorrow will be a spectacular day.
Thanks Bill Laforet , Mayor
