BERGEN COUNTY — Residents in Alpine paid the highest average property tax bill of $20,888 for 2015, according to the latest statewide data.
Alpine and Tenafly and also ranked among the top towns in the state with the highest taxes.
Perhaps not surprisingly, tiny Teterboro has the lowest tax bill at $1,960. The county's smallest borough has about 70 residents, but has large commercial sites.
The average Bergen County tax bill has increased from $10,826 in 2014 to $11,078 in 2015, the data shows.
